Raspberry juice

Homemade raspberry juice is a great way to use fresh raspberries from your home garden or purchased at the market in a healthy and delicious way. Contrary to appearances, raspberry juice is not difficult to prepare, and we only need a few ingredients to make it. We can prepare it from both fresh and frozen raspberries, but we must ensure that the fruit is ripe, undamaged, and, above all, not spoiled. Raspberries are one of the most popular seasonal fruits in Poland and are highly regarded for their health-promoting properties and unique taste. The first fruits appear as early as June, but the main raspberry season lasts from July to September. Sometimes, depending on weather conditions and the variety planted, it can last a bit longer, usually until the first frosts appear.

Raspberry juice, the taste of childhood

Who among us doesn't associate the taste of raspberry juice with childhood? For many of us, it is a symbol of summer holidays spent at grandma's, where in the shade of a tree you could enjoy sweet, homemade raspberry juice. For others, it was the time when mom added it to tea or served it as a warm drink during a cold. In each of the above situations, consuming it was a real feast for the palate. Nowadays, a wide range of raspberry juices is available in stores, but many people still decide to prepare it themselves. For what reason? Because homemade raspberry juice has a unique taste and aroma that cannot be compared to any industrial product, and additionally, we often have raspberries from our own garden at our disposal for its preparation.

Raspberry juice from a steam juicer

Preparing raspberry juice using a steam juicer is a great way to preserve the full aroma and nutritional value of these fruits. This method helps to obtain a thick and tasty juice that will taste great on its own with water or as an addition to other drinks, and even desserts or cakes such as cheesecake. The construction of the steam juicer was planned in such a way as to extract the largest possible amount of juice from the fruit during cooking. Thanks to this, compared to other methods, we obtain significantly more pure juice from the same amount of raspberries. Additionally, the process of essence extraction in the steam juicer takes place in a gentle way, thanks to which juice from a steam juicer retains most of the vitamins and minerals from the fruit. We especially recommend the Winston steam juicer by Ambition with a large capacity of up to 8 liters.

Raspberry juice recipe

Preparing raspberry juice is simple and, contrary to appearances, fast when we use the right steam juicer. Thanks to its use, we can obtain a thick, but at the same time aromatic juice, which will certainly retain the nutritional values of this fruit.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of fresh raspberries
  • 300 g of sugar (suggested portion, depending on preference)
  • juice of half a lemon (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the raspberries: wash the fruit thoroughly under running water; it will be convenient to use a suitable colander or kitchen strainer. Remember to properly remove impurities and eliminate any spoiled fruit.
  2. Prepare the steam juicer: check if the steam juicer is clean and properly assembled. Fill its lower part with water (always according to the instruction manual).
  3. Insert the raspberries: into the middle part of the steam juicer, where the strainer is located. Add sugar and lemon juice, which will emphasize the flavor of the juice.
  4. Cook: turn on the steam juicer and cook according to the instruction manual. At this stage, the water in the lower part of the steam juicer will start to boil, and the steam will begin to pass through the raspberries, extracting the juice from them.
  5. Collect the juice: prepare a jug beforehand (you can use a Bistro jug by Pasabahce) or another vessel in which you want to collect the hot juice. A kitchen funnel may also be helpful in this task.
  6. Pasteurization: if you intend to store the prepared juice for a longer time, it is worth pouring it into smaller bottles, which should be pasteurized for at least 10 minutes after closing.
  7. Storage: It is recommended to store the juice bottles in a cool and dark room.

Enjoy!
